Sugar Land Hits Fortune’s Sweet SpotSugar Land is no stranger to accolades, but the suburb’s latest honor is pretty sweet — Fortune magazine named it one of the top 25 places for families to live in the United States. Sugar Land ranked No. 17 on the annual list based on an analysis of more than 215,000 data points for nearly 2,000 cities and towns across the nation. Among the many qualities that stood out were the city’s schools which are ranked 20 percent rated above average by GreatSchools. Fort Bend ISD and Lamar CISD serve the burgeoning community. Sugar Land districts average a 94 percent graduation rate. Anyone who lives in Sugar Land knows there is plenty to do here. Fortune noted watching the Sugar Land Space Cowboys at Constellation Field (located in Imperial) and shopping at Sugar Land Town Square. We’d like to add taking the kids to the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center, Imperial Farmers Market, concerts at Smart Financial Center and the Houston Museum of Natural Science – Sugar Land are more fun things to do. Fortune also looked at the quality of healthcare. Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital was cited for receiving the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2016, the nation’s highest presidential honor for excellence in health care. Seniors enjoy many living options, including five assisted-living facilities with five-star ratings, as well as a number of single-family neighborhoods and apartment complexes — including The Overture in Imperial — that are specifically for those ages 55 and up. We’d just like to congratulate Sugar Land on this well-deserved honor. If you want to live in one of the nation’s 25 best cities, visit us at Imperial. We’re located in the heart of the city so you can access everything Fortune loved about it. |
